What: United Nations People Speak Public Debate on American Power and Global Security
Who: The speakers will be middle and high school debaters from Seattle Public Schools. The audience will be invited to engage the speakers and participate in a community dialogue post the debate.

About the Guest Speaker: Dr. Mihn A. Luong teaches in the Ethics, Politics, and Economics Program at Yale University and is the Assistant Director of International Security Studies at Yale that focuses on global security issues including U.N. Studies. He was the Chair of the Department of Speech and Communciation at the Pinewood School (CA), Director of Debate at San Francisco State University, and Director of Forensics at the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Luong founded and directs the National Debate Education Project which conducts forensic seminars in underserved areas of the country. He holds the distinction of being the only person to have won the National Collegiate Lincoln-Douglas Debate Championship title both has a competitor and as a coach.
